Boy Abunda faces new challenge as a teacher

MANILA, Philippines - From being a TV host and a talent manager, Boy Abunda is facing a new challenge as a hotshot teacher.

Dubbed as the King of Talk, Abunda is known for doing explosive interviews with the country's biggest stars.

Now, however, he is facing a new chapter in his life and career as a professor teaching the subject Radio and Television Practices and Principles at Philippine Women's University.

In an interview with "Showbiz News Ngayon," Abunda said that it was his big dream to teach.

"Excited. Bagong kabanata sa aking buhay. One of the things that I've always wanted to do was to teach. Baon baon ko din po ang aking karanasan. Lahat ng mga palabas na ginawa ko sa telebisyon, lahat ng mga radio programs na aking nagawa. Lumalawak na ika nga ang aking mundo hindi lang sa loob ng studio kung di tayo ay pumupunta na sa eskwelahan," Abunda said.

After his first day of teaching, Abunda shared his happiness fulfilling his dream to teach and also learn something new from his students.

"Ang sarap po talaga ng karanasan. Parang humuhugot kayo ng kakaibang excitement mula sa mga estudyante and it's so fulfilling," he said.

"Ang dami mo talagang natutunan talaga kasi research driven yong klase. Apat na oras yon," Abunda added.

Currently, hosting "SNN" and "The Buzz," Abunda also snatched the spotlight when reports surfaced that President-elect Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III is eyeing him to head the Department of Tourism.

He was recently in the news again when he first broke the news that his best friend Kris Aquino, youngest sister of President-elect Aquino, is again having marital problems with her husband, star cager James Yap.
